Poker Portal Asia has just received confirmation from Resorts World Manila that the great Johnny Chan will be attending the PHP 15 million Super High Roller to be held in the casino’s luxurious Genting Club on December 26-28, 2011. As reported, Chan has spent much of the past month or so at the nosebleed tables in Macau and is expected to be arriving in the Philippines on December 25.
The PHP 200,000 buy-in of the Super High Roller is no doubt a lot less than what the ten-time WSOP bracelet winner is used to playing in high roller events, but Chan is likely eyeing the high stakes cash games that entry into the tournament will also give him access to. Two tables will be devoted to the high-stakes cash games and will run alongside the tournament.
Organised in conjunction with Avia Junket Group, the Super High Roller is expected to attract a number of visiting players from Macau, mainland China and Korea and will feature a PHP 15 million guaranteed prize pool. In addition, there will be a PHP 3 million guaranteed Badugi tournament held from December 27-28, 2011 with a PHP 50,000 buy-in.
It all promises to be a very interesting few days of poker at RWM’s exclusive Genting Club. With access restricted only to those players registered in the tournaments, your best hope to catch the action is right here at Poker Portal Asia.
