Kenny Shih and Arjun Pasricha Final Table PokerStars Sunday Million

It’s not often that known Asian players feature on the final table of the week’s biggest online poker tournament but that’s exactly what happened during the most recent PokerStars Sunday Million. In a six-handed deal, India’s Arjun Pasricha came in 4th place for USD $73,622 in prize money and Taiwan’s Kenny “ynd!” Shih finished in 6th place for USD $80,558 in prize money.

A field of 6,270 players ponied up the USD $215 buy-in to create a prize pool of USD $1,254,000. The final table featured PokerStars Team Online player Kevin “WizardOfAhhs” Thurman and a few other players from Asia in the form of Hong Kong’s kinglune and Taiwan’s galaxyseven.

Thurman went out in 7th place holding A J after vladobu6i put him to a decision, three-betting with K 6. The Team Online player made the call and typed “HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLD!” in the chat box only to see the board ignore his plea and run out 7 2 6 8 6.

With six players left, the decision was made to pause the tournament and discuss a deal. Negotiations went on for 50 minutes before all players came to an ICM agreement with USD $26,000 left in the pot for the eventual winner.

Shih was the next to go after he pushed from the small blind with K Q and was looked up by the original UTG limper of jjthomas1212 with 10 10. Shih failed to connect on the 6 A 6 7 A board and hit the rail in 6th place for USD $80,558. Following Shih was fellow countryman galaxyseven when his A 3 failed to get through vladobu6i’s K J, which paired a jack on the board.

Just two hands later, Pasricha’s A K came up against kinglune’s 9 6 but a board of 3 7 8 9 Q busted him in 4th place for USD $73,622. Nevermind though, as according to PokerGuru, it was still the biggest Sunday Million score ever by an Indian player.

When jjthomas1212 went out in 3rd place, the chip leader coming into the final table of vladobu6i again held the advantage with almost a 3:1 chip lead against kinglune. The final hand came when kinglune shoved with K 8 and vladobu6i made the call with A 4. The board delivered A 10 10 2 10 to give vladobu6i the win and lion’s share of the prize money.
