PokerStars Announces WCOOP 2012 Schedule

The PokerStars World Championship of Online PokerThe PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker

Just as the richest live tournament series wraps up for another year with the October Nine reached in the WSOP, it’s the perfect time for PokerStars to announce the world’s richest online tournament series. The PokerStars 2012 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) preliminary schedule is now out and the tournament is set to run from September 2-23, 2012.

On offer are 62 events with buy-ins ranging from USD $109 to USD $10,300 and the series begins with a USD $215 6-Max, NLH and USD $10,300 High-Roller. The 22-day online festival will then culminate in a USD $5,200 Main Event that guarantees at least USD $1 million for the winner. Not too shabby, eh?

In the 2011 WCOOP, a monstrous USD $47,120,800 was on offer across the series and Denmark’s Thomas “Kallllle” Pedersen took down the Main Event title for USD $1,260,018 in prize money. Joel Adam “2FLY2TILT” won the Player of the Series award with USD $96,098 in consistent cashes and was rewarded with an EPT Grand Final and PCA package plus a SCOOP Main Event seat, snazzy trophy and special chip set.

PokerStars says they will sort out all the guarantees for each event at a later date and the schedule still has some wiggle room so players are encouraged to provide their feedback. Below is the full preliminary schedule:
