Just before this hand, a troublesome fly kept landing on Miika Viholainen but he wondered aloud if maybe it was lucky.
Chance are it was because he has now doubled up through Tan Tai Zheng in a massive pot. Viholainen started the hand with a raise to 80,000 from the button before Zheng made it 120,000 more from the small blind. The response was a shove for 795,000 and Zheng made the call, perhaps swelled with confidence over his previous big win.
When cards are shown, Viholainen’s A♠ J♦ is in good shape against Zheng’s A♦ 9♦. The board runs 7♠ 8♥ 2♠ 10♥ 8♣ to rocket Viholainen’s stack up to 1,800,000 while leaving Zheng on 600,000.
