While the feature table boasts Chris Parker, Elton Tsang and Devan Tang it is table six that looks like the toughest.
In addition to already boasting the first bust out at the hands of Jun Wei Liu – who has added yet more to his sizable chip stack after a blind on blind battle with Ken Cheang – table six also features JC Tran, Tom Dwan and one Philip Dennis Ivey Jr, better known to the poker world as Phil Ivey.
It hasn’t taken the three of them long to tangle either; Tran gets the ball rolling with an under-the-gun raise to 2,500, Dwan calls from the button, as does Ivey from the big blind.
All three players check the J♦ 8♥ K♠ flop before Tran takes a stab for 5,000 on the 2♠ turn. Dwan makes the call, Ivey steps out of the way and the dealer peels off the 2♣ river.
Tran fires a second bullet for 8,500, but this elicits a fairly snappy call from Dwan who tables 10♥ K♥ leaving JC to sheepishly muck his hand.
