From UTG, David Steicke opened with 325 and saw the blinds make the call.

Flop 2♦ 5♥ 6♣ came and saw another 1,125 into the middle from Steicke. The small blind threw away his hand and so did Vic de Guzman, from the big blind giving Steicke the pot.

Kenjie See

Preflop, Franklin Acfalle opened with 325 and found two callers including Kenjiee See.

The flop 5♠ 8♣ 10♣ appeared and was checked by See and the other player. Acfalle however wanted to up the stakes for this one and bet 2,500. See would tank for a bit but eventually pushed all-in for his final 6,250!

The other player got out of the way but Acfalle snap-called flipping over J♣ J♦ and put See, who had 5♣ 7♣, and his tournament life at risk!

No clubs or another five on the turn 3♦ and river A♠ meaning Kenjie busts out of the APT Philippines 2011 Main Event.

Czardy Rivera

A UTG player raised to 250 during preflop and saw Czardy Rivera and Hyunshik Yun make the call. The player at the big blind, Owen Loft however re-raised it to 3,500! UTG player folded as well as Rivera but Yun was a willing customer and called…

The flop 2♠ 8♠ J♣ appeared prompting another big one from Owen: “I bet 6,500″– this time it was enough to force the fold from Yun.

Don Carmona

After Michael Mariakis just doubled up through Don Carmona, the short-stacked “Pusang Gala” has now returned the favour.

Holding A♦ K♠, Carmona made a preflop bet of 350 which was called by Mariakis. The flop arrived Q♥ K♣ 4♦ and Carmona made a continuation bet of 800, but Mariakis repopped it 2000. Carmona follows with an all in for 3500 and Mariakis is priced in enough to make the call, however, his K♦ 7♠ is in big trouble.

The turn 3♠ and river J♥ sees Carmona receive the double up and the satisfaction that it came from an opponent who crippled him earlier.

Wally Sombero

After the flop of 5♣ J♣ 6♠ a player shoved all in worth well over 16,000. Wally Sombero, who was covered by the player, made the call flipping over Q♣ Q♠ which was ahead of the opponent’s 8♣ 7♣ on a straight and flush draw.

Sombero dodges clubs and other outs at the turn K♥ and river 2♥ to give him a double up to around 21,000.

Ben Nguyen

With the board already showing 9♥ Q♣ 7♥ 8♥ big blind Ben Nguyen raised to 4,000 putting Kenjie See and another player in the tank— understandable, considering there was already a nice healthy pot in the middle.

See and the player would eventually make the fold and Nguyen showed K♥ Q♦ for what was a top pair and he wins the pot.

John Beveridge

John Beveridge opens this pot with a 600 preflop bet from under the gun. Wally Sombero calls in the hijack but the button player puts the squeeze on with a three-bet of 2000. Beveridge is holding 6♠ 6♥ and decides it is worth seeing a flop and calls, but Sombero elects to fold.

Beveridge is all over the flop of 6? 8? 8? and he checks the action to the aggressor who complies with an all in holding 10♣ 10♥. Beveridge makes the easy call with his flopped full house and knocks out his opponent who can’t catch his miracle card on the turn or river.
