Right back from the break and our heads-up match has lasted all of one hand. However, with the stack sizes and that both players had it’s easy to see why. Hung-sheng Lin raised from 275,000 from the button and Brice Renaud moves all-in for 1.8 million pretty much straight away, eliciting a snap call from Lin. It’s left to a good old fashioned race (well, okay more like a 70/30) to decide the tournament.

Renaud totally whiffs the 7♣ 2♦ 9♠ flop, to loud cheering from Lin’s section of the rail. A very sweaty 2♠ lands on the turn to bring whoops of adulation from Renaud’s side of the table – any King or spade and the Frenchman gets a double-up. Both players are on their feet and their supporters on the rail are shouting for blanks and spades in equal measure. Lin is just one card away from being crowned 2011 Macau Millions champion. The dealer burns and agonisingly slowly reveals the last card…
… which is the 8♦. Lin’s supporters explode into a frenzy and we have our champion, who seems a bit shocked at the fact it’s all over so quickly.
