Malaysia’s Daren Yoon has been playing the unenviable role of short-stack surfer for much of the day, holding on by his fingertips around 10,000-mark for the last few hours. That all changed rather quickly in the space of just one hand when he headed off to the races moving all-in for his last 10,500 with 8♣ 8♦ against Dongying Ling’s Ace King.
Not content with hitting his set on the 6♠ 2♣ 8♠ flop Yoon cemented his victory in a rather dramatic fashion by hitting quads when the 8♥ fell on the turn to secure the Malaysian player the double-up – he’s now got more than his original 20,000 starting stack for the first time all day.
