And it’s all over! Oliver Speidel eliminates Czardy Rivera and claims the hefty first prize of PhP2,202,000. In a heads up battle that lasted just under an hour, Speidel shared a good portion of his chips with Rivera but took them all back in consecutive back-to-back hands.
Prior to the sweep, Speidel took down a 388,000 pot against Rivera with a stellar read. Showing some aggression, Speidel reraised Rivera preflop from 60,000 to 180,000, which Rivera immediately called. The flop ran

and both players checked the sizeable pot in the middle.
However, on the turn of
, Rivera decided he would take a big stab and bet out 200,000. Speidel may have gotten a good read on Rivera as he instantly smooth-called the big bet. When the river landed
both players checked with Speidel first to show. Speidel surprisingly opened up
which was good enough to take the big pot as Rivera mucked his cards.
The next hands were not as eventful but saw Speidel take two pots down with a raise and split one with Rivera when the board showed a flush. But then the winning hand came…
Speidel raised 60,000 from the button only to hear Rivera’s all in announcement. Speidel didn’t hesitate nor contemplate, instead, he instantly called and it was the right one as he had Rivera dominated with
over
. The board of

sealed the deal and Speidel claims first prize at the Manny Pacquiao World Poker Event 2011.
Rivera will take home PHP 1,201,600 for his runner-up finish.
Congratulations to all the winners!
Oliver Speidel Back from the break and Oliver Speidel has made up some lost ground. In a limped pot, the two players checked a flop of

.
Speidel was then first to act on the turn
and bet 40,000. Czardy made the call and the dealer tabled the
on the river. Speidel sent another 100,000 into the middle and Rivera looked him up.
Speidel shows
for top pair on the flop and it’s enough to send Rivera’s cards into the muck.
Before the heads-up match started Czardy Rivera was behind 2.5:1 in chips against Oliver Speidel but, after winning successive hands, Rivera has now become a serious threat to Speidel’s shrinking mountain of chips.
In one hand, Speidel raised it up to 50,000 and got an instant call from Rivera. The flop landed

to which Rivera led out for 60,000. Speidel quickly made the call to see a turn card of
. Slowing things down a bit, both players checked their option but when the river landed a
Rivera banged out 120,000 chips. Speidel looked him up just to see Rivera’s river straight with
.
In the following hand, both players kept it friendly with no raise preflop. However, when the flop came down

, Rivera could not resist betting out a cool 35,000. Speidel bobbed his head up and down and figured it was good enough for a call and laid it in the middle.
On the turn card of
and river of
both players hung back and checked it down. In the end, Rivera was in front by pairing up with his
.
Players are now on a short break. Chip count: Speidel with 1,320,000 and Rivera with 900,000.
With barely a moment to catch their breaths, our last two runners have started a heads up war of attrition. In the first few hands, Speidel has showed isn’t afraid to call down Rivera light.
On a flop of

Rivera bet out 25,000 and was met by Speidel. At the turn
Rivera fired another 75,000 and was called again. Both players then checked the
river and Speidel is the first to show his hand of
. Queen-high was good enough to force the muck from Rivera who showed a
only.
In another hand, Speidel was the aggressor preflop but both players slowed down on the flop of

. On the turn
Rivera sent 45,000 into the middle, which was called, and on the river
he put 70,000 more in there.
Speidel took his time but eventually called and prematurely showed
to take it down with just ace-high.
Czardy Rivera After winning three consecutive pots with his psychological warfare against Oliver Speidel and Sim Jae Kyung “Simba”, Czardy Rivera accumulated enough chips to make a bold move and announce all in from the button. Maybe he wasn’t expecting a call but in a matter of seconds, Simba followed suit with Speidel leaving the battle to the two shorter stacks.
When the hole cards were revealed, Simba showed
which was slightly ahead of Rivera’s semi-bluff hand of
. However, the board of

would give Rivera the big lead with his top pair and a flush draw. Simba looking for a miracle to happen would not find it answered as the turn landed
and a river of
. Simba heads to the rail in 3rd place and collects PHP 600,800 for his impressive run.
We are now heads up between Oliver Speidel and Czardy Rivera. Speidel is ahead with 1,520,000 against Rivera’s 680,000.
Czardy Rivera has been trying everything to send some of Speidel’s chips his way. In this first hand, all three players went to a limped flop of

, which was checked around. When Speidel again checked in the small blind on the
turn, Rivera bet 22,000 from the big blind. Sim Jae Kyung gets out of the way but Speidel makes the call and we go to a river of
.
Action is again checked to Rivera who counts out 34,000 more into the middle. Speidel gives it up and Rivera takes the pot down while flipping open
for complete air.
In the very next hand, Rivera tries it on again. Speidel was the aggressor preflop from the button and Rivera made the call in the small blind. The two check down the board of

until the river
when Rivera bets out 35,000.
Speidel thinks for just a moment before making the call with
for just ace-high but it’s enough to beat Rivera’s
king-high.
Since the table dwindled down to the last three players, Oliver Speidel has been bullying his opponents by making big bets and announcing all in with his massive stack thus denying them a peek at the flop. The only way for Sim Jae Kyung “Simba”and Czardy Rivera to win a pot now was to make the call and gamble their tournament life. In the next hand, Simba did just that.
From the button, Simba raised to 35,000 but the unrelentless Mount Speidel wanted more action so he repeated the same bullying action and reraised him all in. After much tossing and turning, and checking his cards repeatedly, Simba finally made the difficult call and flipped open
which was slightly behind Speidel’s
.
The flop delivered

giving Speidel a small pair but it also gave Simba a bunch of outs. The
turn card was no help for Simba, but the river
changed it all as he hit one of his outs for a sweet double up. With the takedown, Simba is now up over half a million in chips.
