Macau Casino Revenues Surge

Macau's City of DreamsMacau's City of Dreams

Macau, currently the gaming capital and growing poker hub of Asia, has reportedly seen a significant surge in revenue during the month of April, increasing by 44.6 per cent to reach $ 2.56 billion. The recorded revenue increase in April represents the country’s biggest monthly income related to the gaming industry. Financial analysts had earlier predicted a 29 per cent increase in revenue for 2011 compared to that of 2010. Surprisingly, in the first four months of 2011 alone it rose 43.3 per cent over last year’s figures. Macau snatched the title of the world’s most popular gambling resort from Las Vegas in 2006 and, with the current trend, analysts expect that by the end of 2011 it will reach at least five times the revenue generated.
