Som Yung Sim stacked up the chips before the final day began and held on to it the rest of the way in clinching the Philippine Poker Tour (PPT) Leg 6 title at the Squeeze Poker Club in Dau, Mabalacat City.
The ending of the Main Event with a PhP 5,500 buy-in was an apt reflection of Sim’s domination of the PPT6 Final Table: in the heads-up battle versus Fernando de Guzman, Sim was holding the A♦ 9♣ and was up against his opponent’s K♠ 7♥. The flop A♠ Q♥ 7♣ held the lead for Sim and the turn 9♥ and river 4♠ confirmed his victory.
Sim joins five other PPT leg champions– Dexter Bryan Luna, Rebel Magdagasang, Rene Pacayra, Martin Corpuz, and Augie Nasser in the PPT Table of Champions, where the winner gets a seat to the World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2013 Main Event.
